Honda RC212V was developed for road racing motorcycle racing in the class 800 cc (49 cu in) in the MotoGP event. Officially introduced on October 30, 2006 as a replacement RC211V in the MotoGP series, developed by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) throughout 2006 and officially began racing in the 2007 season.
